East Nashville is where Nashville’s musicians, artists, and creative class actually live when they’re not performing on Broadway. Dive bars and natural wine lists exist within a block of each other. The Five Points neighborhood is the cultural center, and driving an exotic car through East Nashville is a genuine conversation starter — not because it’s expected, but because it’s delightfully out of place. Franklin, 20 miles south of Nashville, has one of the most beautifully preserved historic main streets in the southeastern United States — brick sidewalks, 19th-century storefronts, and an atmosphere that makes you want to slow down. The drive from Nashville to Franklin on Franklin Road (avoid the interstate) through Brentwood’s rolling hills is itself worth doing. In Franklin, park the exotic car on the square and walk — the car becomes part of the town’s visual story.
